Amendmetns to FIH Rules of Hcokey have come into play with the main rule changes being:

• Removal of goalkeeping privileges for substitute field player
• Defending free hits within 5 metres of the circle
• Free hits awarded inside the defensive circle
• Introduction of match format of 4 quarters as standard

Hockey NZ is currently working through the details and the wider practical implications these new rules will have in Associations in our junior, youth, and senior club competitions. They will share additional commentary and advices around implementation in the New Year.
